Hope House established in 1992, serves the hungry and homeless of the inner-city Utica area three meals a day, seven days a week. They provide countless hours of safe haven from the streets for the people whom are their guests, many whom come to Hope House to be with "family". Our church has adopted the second Thursday of every month, providing the meal and the people to serve it. Each meal at Hope House serves on average 140 guests. Volunteers are always welcome and generally assist from 3:00PM to 5:30PM. Currently our youth group prepare and serve the meal on the first Sunday each month. Feed the hungry and receive ten fold in return!

Seeds of Hope Food Pantry
Mission Statement: seeking to reflect God's love, we are an interactive community providing supplemental nutritional needs, offering hospitality, education, and advocacy for our neighbors. Located at the back entrance of the First Presbyterian Church of Utica, 1605 Genesee St., we are open Tuesday's and Thursday's from 9:30AM to 11:30AM. The food pantry serves Utica area primarily east of the arterial. All who enter are provided a with 3 day supply of food based on size of family and personel items as they are available. Volunteers are needed for transportation, stocking shelves, keeping records, greeting guests, and providing hospitality.
Our involvement: We are ministry partners with New Hartford Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Utica, and Our Savior Lutheran Church of Utica in supporting Seeds of Hope with volunteers and congregational financial contributions and donations.
Soles 4 Souls
This organization is a non-for-profit global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through collection and distribution of shoes and clothing. Since 2006 they have collected and distributed new and gently used shoes to those in need throughout the U.S. and in 127 countries around the world.

Operation Christmas Child
This Christian based program collects shoeboxes filled with toys and personel items, then distributes them to children throughout the U.S. and worldwide. Every gift filled shoebox is a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship, transforming the lives of children and their families around the world through the Good News of Jesus Christ. In 2015, our first year collecting and making these shoeboxes we produced 100+ for distribution. We hope to double our contribution next year. Volunteers are needed to organize and packages items in shoeboxes. Donations are welcome.
Abraham House is rooted in the philosophy that they provide guests with a secure, loving environment while providing physical care as well as emotional and spiritual support for the terminally ill in our community at absolutely no cost to the guest or their family.

Folts Homes is a senior retirement community, in Herkimer, NY. Folts Homes offers multiple levels of care for those individuals who require assistance while still maintaining an independent and leisurely lifestyle. This care includes private apartment living in Folts Apartments and residential community living in Folts' Claxton Manor, with 73 units available. The Folts Health Center is home to 163 residents who receive first class nursing services, occupational and physical therapy, and therapeutic recreation.

We have 2 UMW members on their volunteer board. They help set up special events for the residents. We couldn't do it without the quilters who make "gifts" for the residents.
Neighborhood Center Childcare and Family Services
The Neighborhood Center's Mission is to: Respond to the human needs of the CNY community; Enrich and strengthen the value and worth of individuals and families; Support and encourage responsible citizenship; Provide a foundation for growth; Objectify empowerment and self-help; Nurture cross-cultural relationships; and Develop understanding among all persons.

UMW involvement is mainly financial. Coky volunteers there every other month with her garden club to work with the kids. It is a great organization that helps kids and families throughout the Mohawk Valley. There are many sides to it, with child care being a small part of it. Volunteers are always needed to work with the kids.
Evelyn's House for young mothers and babies(opened 2007). is a program of The Family Nurturing Center of CNY. The house is a transitional residential program that provides safe, nurturing home and supportive services for young women up to age 21 who have become homeless during pregnancy or after having baby. Each mother and child living at Evelyn's House experiences compassion and kindness through the caring acts of volunteers who help with child care, group activities, transportation, holidays and fundraisers.The mom's and kids of Evelyn's House benefit greatly from the generous contributions of cash and gifts offered by local groups and individuals.
Our involvement: Volunteer at the house and gift baskets filled with personel items for the mothers.
Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees
They promote the well-being of culturally diverse individuals and families within our community by welcoming our new neighbors, refugees and immigrants, and by providing individual and community-centered activities designed to create opportunity and facilitate understanding.

Rescue Mission of Utica
This Christian based ministry unconditionally endeavers to assess and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people throughout Utica and the Mohawk Valley. The Rescue Mission serves individuals overcoming homelessness, abuse, addictions and disabilities. Their programs provide safe lodging, food, clothing, case management, counseling, advocacy, education, referrals, spiritual and other supportive services.
