Soldier Presentation April 2010

Soldier Care Packages Ministry
A few years ago Betty Eastman organized a group of United Methodist Women to collect items and pack boxes to
send to our deployed soldiers in the Middle East.
Our church family has continued to support this very important ministry for our deployed soldiers to let them know
that we are thinking about them and praying for them while they are in the battle zone fighting for our freedom.
We want them to know how much we appreciate their service to our country.
Paula Healy has continued this Soldier Box Ministry (in memory of Betty Eastman) with the help of several ladies in our church and the very generous donations from our church family.   We send boxes on the last Thursday of every month.
In addition to our church family soldiers, for several months, the United Methodist Women has been sending care packages to deployed soldiers from a reserve unit in Maryland referred to us by David Bauer (Sherry Bauer's son).
This unit sent a representative, Mike Mader, to our worship service on April 18th to present us with a plaque for our support of the troops.

He also presented every woman who has helped with the packing of the boxes a letter of appreciation from the Department of the Air Force.
